What is a water filter?
A water filter removes contaminents from water by means of a pysical barrier, chemical process or a biological process.
Point-of-use filter
A filter used at home will often have granular activated carbon. This is made from carbonised coconut husks. Most filters on the market use this media. The PROaqua 4200 uses it too, however the PROaqua 4200 is a Multi-Barrier-System. This means it uses more than one method to remove impurities. In a Multi-Barrier-System there are various barriers designed to target specific impurites. This type of system has far greater success in removing more dangerous substances.
